Mary Ann Murray, 81, died Tuesday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart. Her husband of 23 years, Joseph Murray, preceded her in death in 2017.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Siro and Gisela Turrisini Ligi. A member of the ILGWU, she was a seamstress for many years. She loved cooking, bowling, bingo and sweets, but most of all her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Joann Slack and husband Greg, Scranton, and Carol Wentland and husband Joe, Scranton; son, Robert Orgill Jr. and wife Aleksandra, California; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Billings and husband Leonard, California; a brother, Joseph Ligi and wife Joann, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded by a great-grandson, Finley Barrett O'Malley.
According to her wishes she has been cremated. The funeral will be Wednesday with a blessing service at 10 a.m. at the Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Avenue, Scranton Pa. 18505, followed by interment at St. John's Cemetery, Jessup. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 to 10 a.m.
